News2022/01/17

At 7 o'clock on the morning of November 19th, an all-cargo plane carrying Shenzhen Kangtai COVID-19 vaccine flew from Shenzhen Airport to Indonesia. This was the first charter flight of COVID-19 vaccine "going to sea" guaranteed by Shenzhen Airport, and it was also the first time that COVID-19 vaccine produced by Shenzhen local enterprise Kangtai Bio was directly exported overseas from Shenzhen Airport to help fight the global epidemic.

The COVID-19 vaccine delivered this time was produced by Kangtai Bio, a local company in Shenzhen, with a total of more than 4 million doses and a weight of 15 tons, which was carried by American Indian Airlines. Vaccine has strict requirements on transportation timeliness and storage safety, and belongs to aviation-preferred transportation cargo. In order to ensure the safety of the air transportation of this kind of goods, the International Civil Aviation Organization (IATA) has formulated the industry standards that conform to the drug air transportation supply chain, and standardized the processing standards of drug transportation and storage links. Last year, Shenzhen Airport officially obtained the drug certification of CEIV Pharma issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), becoming the third airport in mainland China after Beijing and Shanghai to pass this certification, and it has the guarantee ability to carry biotechnology products. This transportation guarantee is also the first time that Shenzhen Airport has carried the COVID-19 vaccine transportation guarantee task after obtaining this qualification.

The vaccine in COVID-19 uses passive temperature control packaging, which requires a high guarantee for the whole process. The whole transportation process should be strictly kept in the temperature control range of 2-8 degrees Celsius. In order to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of vaccines, Shenzhen Airport has formulated the COVID-19 vaccine transportation guarantee scheme, upgraded the cold chain transportation and storage facilities, and used the visual temperature display to monitor the temperature of vaccines in the whole process to ensure the transportation quality of vaccines in COVID-19.

At the beginning of this month, Indonesia officially authorized the emergency use of recombinant adenovirus vector COVID-19 vaccine produced by Shenzhen Kangtai Bio-tech, which is the second adenovirus vector COVID-19 vaccine approved for emergency use overseas in China and the first in Guangdong Province. As a result, Kangtai Bio-tech has become the only vaccine company in the world that has two different technical routes and COVID-19 vaccine approved for emergency use.

In recent years, Shenzhen Airport has continuously improved air cargo supply capacity and service level, continuously optimized port functions, enriched port formats, and achieved two "full coverage" of special cargo guarantee certification qualification and cross-border e-commerce business model. Good logistics ecology and support capability have made Shenzhen Airport an important freight hub in Greater Bay Area, contributed to the stability of global supply chain under the epidemic, and strongly supported all kinds of enterprises in Shenzhen and its surrounding areas to go global and sell globally.

Earlier, American-Indian Airlines opened the "Shenzhen-Singapore-Jakarta" all-cargo route at Shenzhen Airport. This transportation is the first time to carry vaccine transportation after the opening of this route, which is helpful to further promote the transportation and cooperation of medical materials around the world, especially in ASEAN, and accelerate the cross-border logistics exchange and development between China and Southeast Asia.
